Creating technology for the resurgence of manufacturing

During my time at Fulcrum, I focused on the redesign of many features of the software. I collaborated with the product manager, creative director, and global engineers to release new and redesigned product features. Some of the features that I have been part of include: the digital job tracker, scheduling, and real-time personnel.

This job tracking feature is a redesign and is utilized by workers on the shop floor of manufacturing companies. One issue we had with the previous UI: a lack of flow and visibility of where they were in the process of an operation. We completely overhauled the UI and created an interactive, touch-friendly, and systematic job tracker. The video shows how the current job tracker functions, and the image below shows a previous version.

Digital Job Tracker
Real Time Personnel

This feature allows for managers or owners to see who has clocked in or clocked out, as well as how long they have worked for. The visualizations gives insight of how to better understand the hours of each employee and how they can improve their work hours in terms of efficiency.

We wanted to better way to visually showcase the trackers, especially if it goes overtime. Managers and owners have also complained about how they weren't able to easily view or edit the timers, so we implemented that feature. KPI banners were added throughout the product and can also be used to filter the table below.

Scheduling

Scheduling is a feature that allows better foresight of when deadlines are coming up. Many customers wanted a better view of the status of each operation that was happening. The column view allows customers to filter by departments and columns, as well as notify them of any issues they may have with an operation. Another feature is the "late" filter to indicate which operations are not meeting or have passed the deadline. Customizable tags were also added to the scheduling feature to display important characteristics.

KPI Data Visualization

Data visualization gives a better and more general view of the status of quotes. These KPI banners included the number of open quotes, drafted quotes, sent quotes, and quotes that were approved or needed to be approved. They also acted as filters that correlated to the table below.

Reworking was a key feature that many customers have asked for. The feature allows for them to note that there needs to be a redo an item if there was an issue, and will reopen an operation. The release of this feature left many customers very satisfied and they have left notes about how this has helped the efficiency of their work flow.
